Welcome to LivinOnDaEdge.com! This site is GEARed (silly pun intended) towards coverage of the Gear Live Media Network of sites and content. More specifically, we will be keeping you up to date on the latest episodes of The Bleeding Edge, a Gear Live Media produced video podcast. So, share your love of the show and possibly even influence how it evolves.

Livin On Da Edge goes live!

Now covering Gear Live Media production of The Bleeding Edge

Here you will find coverage of The Bleeding Edge and be able to share your opinions. We also plan to cover other Gear Live Media Network content as well as other news stories related to the industry.

The Bleeding Edge is a video podcast based on technology and really just anything cool. Rather than just another boring "news cast" the guys on The Bleeding Edge don't take themselves too serious and thankfully leave most of the bloopers in place for our pleasure. Although still considered "amateur" podcasters, these guys have made major improvements since the beginning just a short time ago. If you prefer straight-on reporting then stick with the boring "pro" shows. If you want something fun and with personality then The Bleeding Edge is for you.

Be sure to let the guys know how you like the show. They are very open to suggestions and comments and are getting better every show just from experience. If you haven't already done so, be sure to take the quick Podtrac listener survey and help make the show even better.

The Bleeding Edge

Episode 013: Interview: Microsoft's Peter Moore

013 Episode 13 was completely dedicated to a video interview with Peter Moore of Microsoft. The Bleeding Edge was able to sit down with Peter and get some cool inside info on the 360, Peters opinions on the competition as well as some specific questions answered. Sure, Peter wasn't spilling anything on the announced HD DVD player expansion for the Xbox 360, such as price or release date, but he was pretty open with most other subjects.

The Bleeding Edge

Episode 012: DIY Bottlecap Tripod, Google Calendar, Zip Drive Destruction

011 Episode 12 was a shorter one coming in at just over 20 minutes but still plenty of fun content. Andru, Mini Sparky and Jake start off the show talking about the newly released (beta) Google Calendar and we learn that Jake may need intervention to get away from his cell phone. Joking aside, Jake plays a good "devils advocate" and make some good points.

Jake then talks about his rubbing shoulders with million dollar domain hounds while attending the Domain Roundtable Conference. Although we have all heard about the cyber squatters, I never knew there were that many people making that much money from it. Though I did jump in to test the water out with a few Nintendo Wii domains ;) (offers from multi-millionaires welcome).

Andru and Jake talk about the new HD DVD players starting to hit the market and take a quick, friendly, detour into the inevitable blu-ray vs. HD DVD debate. Can PS3 make blu-ray a success? We may soon get a video review of one of the new HD DVD players if Jake actually ends up getting one...hopefully he leaves his review of Tom Cruise out of it though.

Jake also treats us to a cool little DIY project. Sure he may be cheap but you can't say he isn't smart to not want to spend $20 on a bottlecap. We learn how easy, and cheap, it is to make a "tri-pod" (bottlepod) that can be used with any soda bottle with a "standard size" screw cap. You can check out a step-by-step on Jakes site (JakeLudington.com) or of course watch how to do it in the show. Pretty cool though you may get some strange looks pointing your Dew at the womenz.

Nate and Jesse get experimental in a cool "Breakin' Stuff" and make a zip drive pay for all it's evil doings of the past. Does it really matter what they kill or will everything they tear apart keep me drawn? I think the latter but can't wait until they get to the point of trashing a hummer. We also get to see some more of their fun after the credits and there is at least one very cool bubbles scene as well as some strange quesadilla happenings (you just have to watch to understand). R.I.P. Zip.

Our fun factor rating: 8/10
